The Show Horse Council of Queensland Inc (originally Hack Council) was formed in 1991 to promote the sport of Show horses in Queensland.  We have continued to promote the sport and built on its success over the last 19 years, now providing as many as 360 members with still a strong Show Horse Council committee in 2010, all of which bring their knowledge of Showing, Breeding and training of horses to our sport.

Each year we provide members with a Rising Star Newcomer show (Qld members only),  SHCQ Hack Championships (Open to all states) and our fabulous Horse of the Year event (Qld members only).  We pride ourselves on hosting one of the biggest HOTY & Hack Championships events in Queensland, providing members with quality awards such as Embroidered Kersey/Cotton Rugs, Garlands, Trophies and sponsored product.

SHCQ is an affiliate of SHOW HORSE COUNCIL AUSTRALASIA NSW, therefore being able to provide their members with the highest quality 24/7 insurance cover with AON insurance and hosting two of the five Grand National Qualifying events held each year in Queensland.

Official Measuring Days are held throughout the year (please check measuring dates for each year on this website), providing our members with yearly height measurements and now Life Measurements for horses over the age of 8 years, that can be used throughout Australia at any SHC event.

Membership of Show Horse Council Queensland Inc has recently changed to keep in form with other states and therefore now falls due on the 1st July each year.  Membership Forms are available on this website.
